Moment and it's application

Moment/Moment of force:-Turning force produced by a force about a point is called Moment/moment of a force.
  • It is calculated by the product of force and perpendicular distance on line of action from that point.
Moment of a force about point A is = F x D
Unit of moment is = N-m (Newton-meter)
Dimension of moment =
There are two types of moment. They are as follows:-
  • Clockwise moment:-This moment is turning in clockwise direction. It also known as Positive moment.
  • Anticlockwise moment:-This moment is turning in anticlockwise direction. It also known as Negative moment.

Varignon's theorem:-If number of co-planar forces acting on a body, then algebraic sum of moment of all the forces is equal to moment of their resultant force.
To prove Varignon's theorem,we have geometrical representation of moment

Moment of force equals to twice the area of triangle, and vertex of triangle is same point from which moment is taken.
Proof of Varignon's theorem:-
Principle(law) of moments:-If co-planar forces acting on a body, then algebraic sum of moments of the forces at a point is zero.

By that we can say,
All anticlockwise moments at any point must be equal to all clockwise moments.
hey guys,
I think this information is getting happy because it helps to convey the theorem and derivation in easy way.so please follow my mail and also comment your topic after that i will include your topic to elaborate in easy way.
